 Engine (Parts and Labour)
Cylinder Block, crankshaft, crank bearings, big end bearings, oil pump, con-rods, gudgeon pins, small end bearings, pistons, piston rings, cylinder bores, cylinder head (excluding cracks), rocker shaft, rockers, hydraulic lifters, camshaft and cam followers, push rods, camshaft bearings, inlet and exhaust valves, valve springs, valve guides, cylinder head gasket, inlet manifold, timing gears, timing chains, flywheel and starter ring gear. (Excluding sticking valves, Oil leaks).

Timing Belts:
Timing belts are covered providing that the last due change of belt has taken place as specified by the manufacturer's schedules (proof required). Damage subsequently caused if timing belt has not been changed as specified by manufacturer is specifically excluded. Turbocharger

The complete turbo unit is covered (including the wastegate if it is an integral part of the turbo unit and cannot be bought separately, providing it is of original manufacturers equipment. Cover only applies if noted on the proposal form and the additional premium has been received.

Cooling
Engine thermostat, water pump, thermostat housing, engine temperature gauge sensor, viscous fan coupling, engine oil cooler, heater matrix, radiator and expansion tank.

Fuel System (Petrol)
Fuel Injected Engines: Petrol injection pump. (Excluding: injectors, wiring, pipes, unions, fuel tank and fuel filter). Carburettor Engines: Mechanical or electrical fuel lift pump, carburettor.

Liquid petroleum Gas System
All parts of the LPG System (providing it has been installed by an authorised LPG converter, and the additional premium has been received).

Transmission
4x4 Vehicles: Cover only applies if noted on the proposal form and the additional premium has been received. Cover is as listed below for 2 wheel drive vehicles plus the specialist components indicated. 4x4 Transfer Box

(Excluding: Vauxhall/Opel Vectra, Calibra and Cavalier). The following internal mechanical components are covered: Transfer gears, selectors, shafts, transfer shafts, needle and roller bearings, output shafts and bushes. (Excluding Oil leaks). Driveline

Front and rear wheel drive vehicles: Open drive shafts including constant velocity joints, universal joints and couplings. Rear wheel drive half shafts, half shaft bearings. Includes front and rear transfer shafts 4x4 vehicles.

(Excluding: Gaiters and viscous couplings, oil leaks).

4x4 Differential

Planetary gear assembly, crown wheel and pinion assembly. Internal shafts, bearings and bushes, thrust washers, spacers, bevel gears. Includes front, rear and centre differential on 4x4 vehicles. (Excluding: Viscous couplings and fluid differentials, oil leaks).

4x4 Transfer Box

(Excluding: Vauxhall/Opel Vectra, Calibra and Cavalier). The following internal mechanical components are covered: Transfer gears, selectors, shafts, transfer shafts, needle and roller bearings, output shafts and bushes. (Excluding Oil leaks). Driveline

Manual Gearbox
The following internal mechanical components are covered: Gears and gear clusters, selectors and shafts, synchromesh assemblies, bushes, ball and roller bearings, needle bearings and transfer gears. (Excluding Oil leaks).

Automatic Gearbox
The following internal mechanical components are covered: Governor, valve block, oil pump, gears, brake bands, servos, clutches, seals, shafts, bearings and bushes, modulator valve and transfer gears.

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT/CTX): All internal mechanical components and seals. (Excluding Oil leaks).

Torque Converter

All internal mechanical components and seals.

Clutch
Release (thrust) bearing, centre plate (including oil contamination - centre plate only), pressure plate, master and slave cylinders, clutch cable including self adjusting mechanism and clutch damper. Propshaft/s

Propshaft, universal joints and couplings, bearings and rubber couplings. Includes front and rear transfer shafts 4x4 vehicles. (Excluding: Gaiters).

Wheel Bearings:
Front and rear wheel bearings. Suspension and Steering: Steering rack and pinion, power steering rack, steering box, power steering box, idler box, power steering pump and reservoir, coil springs, wishbones and balljoints, hydrolastic displacer units. (Excluding: Gaiters, oil leaks, tracking and balancing).

Hydropneumatic Suspensions: Accumulator sphere, fluid pressure control valve, suspension spheres and high pressure pump.

(Excluding: Gaiters, oil leaks, tracking and balancing).

Braking System
Brake master cylinder, callipers, wheel cylinders, brake bias/restrictor valve, vacuum servo and brake vacuum pump. (Excluding: Corroded or seized components). Anti Lock Brake System (ABS): Factory fitted anti-lock braking systems are covered. (Excluding: Wiring and connection faults). Cover only applies if noted on the proposal form and the additional premium has been received.

Electrical:
Alternator, voltage regulator, starter motor (including solenoid - pre-engaged type), starter solenoid (inertia drive starters), electric window motors and switches, indicator relay, front and rear windscreen wiper motor, front and rear windscreen washer motor, ignition coil, glowplug relay (diesel vehicles), electric sun roof motor and switch, central locking systems (excluding remote control unit and wiring), distributor, electronic ignition module, electrical radiator fan and temperature sensing switch, oil pressure sensor, indicator and wiper switches (column stalks), heater fan motor, fuel tank sender unit, horn and electric fuel pump.

ECU
Electric Control Unit Air Conditioning: Factory fitted air conditioning systems are covered (Excluding: Pipes, unions, wiring and receiver drier).

Regassing: Within the limits of indemnity, where the replacement of a covered component requires re-gassing of the system, a maximum of £40. VAT will be contributed (routine maintenance re-gassing is not covered). Cover only applies if noted on the proposal form and the additional premium has been received.

Working Materials /Casings:

Should any authorised repair to any of the above components require essential replacement of or topping up of lubricants, oils or coolant or replacement of the oil filter or replacement of casings these shall be covered as part of total claim (within policy limits).

Failure Of The Following Specialist Diesel Components.

Fuel Injection pump, low pressure supply pump, fuel injector governor, fuel shut off mechanism, hydraulic or electrical injection timing mechanism, high pressure fuel metering head, cold starting device, manifold boost pressure compensator, altitude compensator where fitted. Pump drive gear, glow plug relay, mechanism lift pump, brake vacuum pump.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Recovery
in the event of a breakdown resulting in a valid claim the policy will include a maximum of £50 inc. VAT towards the cost of recovery to the repairing garage if the vehicle is immobile, or if continued driving of the vehicle could cause danger or further damage.

Car Hire
If your vehicle is off the road for more than 24 hours due to mechanical breakdown of any component covered under the Mechanical Breakdown section of this policy, car hire up to a total of £30 (including VAT) per day for a maximum of 7 days, will be included.

To qualify for the car hire benefit you must advise the Company within 24 hours following breakdown.

EXCLUDING
The first 24 hours following breakdown. Vehicle Hire in excess of the 7 day allowance above. Charges incurred for fuel, damage or insurance.

Note: The Insurers cannot be held responsible should hire be refused for any reason.

Authority to hire must first be obtained from MB&G Administration Office.

(Excluding: Fuel lines, Injectors, glow plugs, high pressure pipes, injection timing adjustments, calibration, bench testing and emission test failures).

IMPORTANT
It is essential that an authority number is obtained from MB&G Claims Department before any repairs commence.

Overnight Accommodation

If the Insured Vehicle cannot be driven due to a breakdown caused as a direct result of a failure of a part covered under Mechanical Breakdown section of this policy and you are more than 25 miles from your intended destination we will pay for one nights bed and breakfast in a hotel for you and up to 3 passengers; subject to a Policy limit of £50 per person with a total amount payable of £200. PLEASE NOTE: Authority must be obtained from MB&G Administration Office.

Continental Use - This policy is extended to cover the Vehicle whilst in any country of the EEC and EFTA for a period of not more than 60 days in any 12 month period., with the limit of liability restricted to the equivalent United Kingdom rate for labour charges and parts at prices applicable at the date of the claim.

Please note: MB&G Assist cover does not extend beyond the United Kingdom.

Important: Car hire, hotel accommodation expenses will constitute part of the total claim and cost will be limited to the maximum indemnity as stated on the proposal form. A bona fide receipt will be required
